Twatman: Pierce Brosnan's "stupid" comment that led to him losing caped crusader role
Between Remington Steele and GoldenEye, Pierce Brosnan auditioned to play the titular role in Tim Burton's Batman.
Brosnan revealed a quip he had made during the audition, which he believes made him lose out.
"I remember saying something stupid to Tim Burton", Pierce disclosed.
"I said, 'You know I can't understand any man who'd wear his underpants outside his trousers'. But there you go. The best man got the job", he said of Michael Keaton's eventual landing of the part.
