Outbreak of middle-aged men foaming at the mouth
Men in the baby boomer cohort have been wheeling out the comparison between a black actor playing James Bond to a white actor portraying Nelson Mandela in their droves. The problem is that one was a real person whose skin colour was integral to his story, and the other is not.
Conversations among fans are naturally turning to who could replace Daniel Craig, and the name 'Idris Elba' has popped up yet again. Yet this time, it's come straight from the mouth of the person who will decide who plays James Bond.
"Well, we know Idris", Barbara said. "We're friends with him, and he's a magnificent actor. And, you know, it's been part of the conversation, but it's always difficult to have the conversation when you have someone in the seat".
