Another Page turns in The Saint saga
It turns out that Regé-Jean Page will be filling at least one of Roger Moore's roles: The Saint.
The actor has been the subject of next Bond rumours ever since the Netflix series Bridgerton hit big.
It'll be the second big-screen version of Simon Templar's adventures after the much-maligned 1997 effort with Val Kilmer in the lead role. Based on the books by Leslie Charteris, The Saint was adapted for British television in the 1960s in Roger's pre-Bond days.
Confirming the news of his casting, Jean shared a GIF of Roger as the Robin Hood-like character on Twitter.
Jean has previously addressed the Bond talk, stating:
"I think the internet thinks a lot of things, and that's one of the more pleasant ones. So I'm pleased as far as that goes.
I think there might be an element of cultural translation to be done here. If you're a Brit, and you do something of any kind of renown that people regard well, then people start saying the B-word. It's like a merit badge. You get the B-word merit badge. But I don't think it's much more than that.
"I'm very, very glad to have the badge. I'm glad to be in such wonderful company of people who have the badge. But it's a badge".
