Daniel Craig's personal trainer, Simon Waterson, has lifted the lid on how the actor got his Bond bod in his new book: Intelligent Fitness: The Smart Way to Reboot Your Body and Get in Shape.

The former member of the 845 Naval Air Squadron — an elite UK special forces unit — has worked with Daniel on each of his five 007 flicks. He's also trained Captain America actor Chris Evans and Chris Pratt for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Daniel has written a forward to a new book by Simon Waterson, described as "the film industry's most in-demand personal trainer."

The actor wrote:

"Without Simon's help and guidance, I wouldn't have made it through 15 years of playing James Bond".

The book will also include behind-the-scenes photos of "training sessions in the 007 gym".

Previously talking about getting Daniel in shape, the PT said:

"I am constantly impressed with him and his mentality. My goal was to help him be the fittest 50-year-old on the planet. I think we got there. I don't think people realise how demanding these productions are. I am blown away that he is still standing half the time".

He also oversaw an elite nutritional plan with Daniel's breakfast consisting of eggs, rye bread, avocado, kimchi, turmeric shots, and black coffee.

Waterson added in another interview:

"After a few months of training, Dan was lifting and performing like an athlete. He had full focus on what he wanted and the discipline from me to help him execute it.

"Even now, I still can't believe the physical changes he achieved. It just shows that with willpower and dedication, you can achieve anything".

The book will reveal Waterson's "unique approach to reimagining your body and transforming your fitness by focusing on training, recovery and nutrition".

Talking of the book's launch, Waterson said:

"I'm so excited to finally be sharing my tried-and-tested programmes for fitness and wellbeing that have helped me transform so many actors into athletes.

"But this is by no means an intimidating fitness manual aimed at the super-advanced. The purpose of this book is to create a highly accessible and practical fitness guide for everyone.

"Physical and mental wellbeing shouldn't just be for film stars; all the techniques I use are so relevant to anyone looking to achieve sustainable health and fitness in their own life".

The book is set for a January 2022 release to coincide with your "new year; new me".
