The art of FBFO: part four

Every month on the For Bond Fans Only Facebook group, members are asked to vote for a Bond-related topic/theme to celebrate and discuss in depth. For instance, FBFO may shine the spotlight on one of the actors, a specific film in the series, a character or a novel/short story, etc.

Anything is up for suggestion, by any member... but there's a twist. You see, FBFO has an affectionate streak of sardonic humour running throughout it, very much like Bond himself, so there is only one caveat: all suggestions have to be pun-tastic! This is demonstrated by the gems (and groaners) below.

Since February 2020, FBFO's very own Chris Smith has been producing the artwork banner images for these monthly, pun-embracing, celebrations. Collated below are his designs that buoyed us through a COVID-hit 2020. Enjoy. 

February 2020: "Klebbruary"

Theme: Even though Klebb has had her kicks, we're afraid she couldn't kick the coronavirus. Chris kicked off his banners with a month dedicated to From Russia with Love.

March 2020: "On Her Marchesty's Secret Service"

Theme: Christmas in March? Why not. A month dedicated to the glorious OHMSS.

April 2020: "Aprilciation"

Theme: at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, key workers across the UK were risking their lives to save our bacon — as they still are one year on. In April, we tipped our caps to them by celebrating the characters in Bond with "key" jobs.

May 2020: "May we remember Nick Cox"

Theme: May was dedicated to FBFO member, Nick Cox, who we sadly lost to COVID-19. Never forgotten and forever in our hearts.

June 2020: "Tjune"

Theme: the choons and bangers of Bond!

July 2020: "Booly"

Theme: Boo! The scariest moments in Bond.

August 2020: "Georgeust"

Theme: The Laz!

September 2020: "Erectmember"

Theme: Bond's many sexual conquests before social distancing became a thing.

October 2020: "Octopurr"

Theme: all the pussies on Bond, in honour of the late Honor, who we sadly lost earlier in the year.

November 2020: "Knowvember"

Theme: In November, FBFO members tested each other's Bond knowledge. How many of these tidbits did you know?

December 2020: "Decembrrr"

Theme: Baby, it's cold outside. As well as those chilly moments in Bond, we celebrated 007's coldest and most bastard kills.
