Tiffani Thiessen's roles in Saved by the Bell and Beverly Hills, 90210 established her as a teen idol of the 1990s.

Now the 52-year-old has revealed that she questioned her career after being overlooked for a Bond girl role.

"I was very close to being a Bond girl", she said. "It was super, super hard because I also was a huge James Bond fan".

Tiffani recalled taking a trip to the beach, where she contemplated her future in acting.

"That was a really big moment in my life, a very hard sort of rejection that I had. I remember questioning my career after that. Like, do I keep going and do I really want to do this? Can I handle rejection like that? I put everything into it".

Tiffani has now encouraged other people facing similar setbacks to "find the joy" in their craft.

"I think the drive that I had for it just goes to show you that I still wanted to continue doing it. Like I loved the drive. I loved the opportunity. And so I never gave up. And I still enjoy it to this day".

Tiffani also jokingly suggested that she could still appear in a Bond film one day.

"Maybe if they’re looking for an older lady. You never know".
