"Nightfall covers me, but you know the pool plans I'm making"
It's a triple celebration for Duran Duran star Simon Le Bon and his model wife, Yasmin.
Firstly, the King has awarded Simon an MBE.
Secondly, the couple can extend their multi-million-pound, ten-bedroom London home by a third. They can't get their children to leave home. Daughters Amber, 31, Saffron, 29, and Tallulah, 26, refuse to move out.
"Somehow, we've created this home that no one wants to leave', said Yasmin, 56.
Thirdly, they've won a battle with their neighbours to build a pool house at their £5 million home. The pair landed hot water with locals when they dug up their back garden to make way for a vast 50x13ft pool.
Now they want to splash out on a 26x14ft 'garden room', but riled residents objected, fearing noisy pool parties and flooding.
In a letter, one angry neighbour wrote:
"I don't believe any future construction will be any better. It has had a significant detrimental impact on my quality of life and feeling of safety in my home".
But an environmental health officer said:
"Noise should not be an issue provided construction materials of the garden room and plant room are sufficient to contain the noise".
How the other half live.
